Siri, a company that had developed a free personal assistant application for iPhone and iPodTouch is now acquired by Apple for an undisclosed sum.
Siri has also been selected as the Most Innovative Web Technology in a contest at this years SXSW festival. Siri, the personal assistant app offers automated service by integrating a rapidly growing number of third-party services such as OpenTable, FlightStats, and Google Maps with voice-recognition technology from Nuance Communications.
According to Mashable Sources, The terms of the deal have not yet disclosed, but its definitely a done deal. Soon, Siri team members will be joining Apple’s team. Having said that, Siri now belongs to Apple and we don’t expect Siri to develop other platform application.
Officially Apple & Siri have not confirmed it yet. But, other source like Federal Trade Commission’s early termination records indicates that this acquisition would be legit.
