Let me first start with Congratulating Steve Jobs and his team for taking the First Spot for being the worlds most admired companies. The “Worlds Most Admired Companies” list that Fortune prepares every year. Its a ranking of corporate reputation. In other words, its not what consumers thinks of Corporate America, its what Corporate America thinks of Corporate America.

Touchscreen Mobile Device Sales Will Grow 97 Percent – Says Gartner

I must say this “Non touchscreen devices are out dated. We all prefer a smart-phone with a touchscreen and has a great user interface“. Google’s Click-to-Call Phone Numbers in Mobile Ad’s

Remember, recently Google announced a new features that allows advertiser to add phone number to their mobile ads. Adding the phone number will make, customers to connect with the local business with just a click.

Now, Google is expanding Click-to-call phone numbers for national advertisers. Now, advertisers can add a national phone number to the last line of their existing ads. This way when a customer searches for a business and looks at your ads, they can just tap / click on your ads phone number to get connected.

Google’s one more acquisition – Picnik

Google just acquired Picnik, an online image editing tool, for an undisclosed amount, the companies have announced on there blogs (Google & Picnik). The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Picnik started in 2005, giving users a fast, fun and easy to use and powerful set of photo editing tools for editing, sharing and printing images using any internet browser on any computer platform. FCC approached by CMDA version of Nexus One

Update (03/02/2010) – According to sources who are familiar with the matter informed that CDMA version of Nexus One will be available from march 23rd 2010.
The current Google’s Nexus One is GSM/HSPA version, which is manufactured by HTC corporation. The model number for Google’s Nexus One GSM version is PB99100.

Gartner’s worldwide smartphone numbers (iPhone, Android & RIM gained)

If you are a regular reader of this blog you might have already learned worldwide smartphone numbers of 2009 which were provided by Canalys, which we have published back on 11th Feb, 2010. Google Goggles with text image recognition and translation

Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Google Goggles Lead Engineer Hartmut Neven  demonstrated a prototype version of Google Goggles at Mobile World Congress 2010, Barcelona. This prototype Google Goggle version have integrated Google’s machine translation and image recognition technologies in it. Android OS growth is accelerating. 60,000 Android based devices a day.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt at Mobile World Congress 2010, Barcelona was very exited to announce the accelerating growth of Android based devices. The search giant mentioned that, phone manufactures who loaded Android OS on phones shipping more than 60,000 phone a day.

We are now shipping more than 60,000 Android devices in the Android industry per day and that number has doubled over the last quarter.
