Apple seeds Newer Mac OS X 10.6.3 Build 10D558 to developers

Apple started seeding a newer Mac OS X 10.6.3 build to developers. The previous build was 10D552 was back on 9th Feb, 2010. Apple asked the developers to focus on three key areas which includes AirPort, Graphics Drivers and QuickTime. This particular build is pretty similar to the last build with very few minor changes.

The build further includes:

Performance improvements for 64-bit Logic
Addresses compatibility issues with OpenGL-based applications
Includes changes to QuickTime X that increase reliability and enhance security
Improves printing reliability and compatibility with 3rd party printers
Addresses issues that cause background message …

Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6.3 Build 10D552) upgrade reaching developers

Apple started seeding a new version of Mac OS X 10.6.3 Build 10D552 to developers last night. The previous Build Build 10D548 which was seeded last Friday and before that it was Build 10D538. This 737.2 MB build should be ready for us to download in a week or two.

Developers are now being asked to focus testing on 3 areas

Airport
GraphicsDrivers
QuickTime

At present there are no known issues. In the last build, developers were asked to focus on iCal and Printing. Seems like there are no known issue in that area …

Update to QuickTime X

OpenGL-grounded applications
and more…

According to our sources, the newest version provides a number of enhancements and bug fixes for the above mentioned list. That said, this new Build 10D548 doesn’t have any “known issues”.

Update (02/06/2010) – Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6.3 Build 10D548) upgrade reaching developers
A Pre release of Mac OS X 10.6.3 Build 10D538 is reaching developer with new maintenance and security. We can speculate to get this 665 MB sized upgrade in a month and a half.

We can expect the following in this Build 10D538

Update to QuickTime X
Performance of Apple’s 64-bit Logic Pro Audio Suite.
Better Compatibility with third-part printers
OpenGL-grounded applications

Apple’s Bootcamp 3.1 for Windows 7 released.

Yesterday Apple released its Bootcamp 3.1 for Windows 7 32bit and 64bit.
Boot Camp lets you install Windows on a Mac computer, using a Microsoft Windows installation disc that you provide. Windows is installed on its own partition. After installation, you can use either Windows or Mac OS X on your Mac computer.
