How to Enable FaceTime on iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.1

This is definitely a big time achievement! Remember the hackers behind FaceTime Hacktivation Tweak, which allows Middle-Eastern users to enable FaceTime? Now, they have achieved something even more exciting for iPhone 3GS users/owners.

According to the hackers, a app called “FaceIt-3GS” will soon be available on Cydia Store (you must have a Jailbroken iOS Device to access it), which claims it will enable FaceTime on iPhone 3GS. As iPhone 3GS does not have a front facing camera, this tweak will only allow to see the person on the other end who make a FaceTime call using iPhone 4.

It will be interesting to see, if this tweak can make use of the rare camera of iPhone 3GS.

Update #1: How to Enable FaceTime on iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.1

Step 1: Launch Cydia

Step 2: Tap on Manage, Tap on Source, Tap on Edit & then Tap on Add

Step 3: Now, type the following source in the text field and tap Add Source

Step 4: Now, the source is verified & added, tap on the added source

Step 5: Now look for “FaceIt-3GS“, select it, tap on Install & then tap on confirm to complete the installation.

Step 6: Once the installation is completed, give your iPhone 3GS a reboot.

Step 7: Now, go to Setting and Activate the FaceTime option and your iPhone will send the activating text. (make sure you have enough credit for an international SMS.)
