We all been talking a lot about Flash. We learned that Apple’s iPad will not support Flash and it will be the same for 4th Gen iPhone. When we talk about Windows Phone 7 Series, a lot of people who are familiar with Silverlight will come to an assumption that the it will be heavily based on Silverlight. And few of them may think that Flash would be unlikely to ever be available on the phone.
Recently, Adobe had also declared that, no plans to have Flash 10.1 for Windows Mobile 6.5 phones, due to certain critical API’s. With that said, Microsoft never had any objection to Flash being available for the OS. Though, Flash was not existed at the launch of Windows Phone 7, Microsoft and Adobe are working together to bring Flash to Windows Phone 7.
Mike Chambers, Principal Product Manager at Adobe said the following..
There has been a lot of buzz in the mobile space lately, and I suspect there will be even more around Windows Phone 7 at next week’s Microsoft Mix conference. One thing I wanted to clarify as it may have been lost in some of the other news is that Adobe and Microsoft are working together to bring Flash Player 10.1 to Internet Explorer Mobile on Windows Phone 7 Series.
