According to AppleInsider the future Mac Mini’s will be equipped with HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port instead of the traditional DVI (Digital Video Interface) port. Having HDMI output for Mac Mini’s will make it as a 2nd Apple product to have HDMI output after Apple TV.
If you are not aware DVI only support Video. So, with the current version of Mac Mini’s there is no better way to deliver both audio and video to a HDMI TV over a single cable. Having a HDMI output, users can easily connect to HDMI TV with a single cable for both video and audio and get High Def Quality for inexpensive price.
Mac Mini’s may hope for Blue-Ray also. But, people familiar with this matter informed that – the licensing fee is too high and have few software and hardware challenges.
