Touchscreen getting more magical. Just hover your fingers

Cypress provides touchscreen solutions to few major touchscreen smartphone like Samsung i890 and Palm Pre. Now, Cypress have gone above and beyond the way we use the touchscreen by introducing TrueTouch Hover Detection. What that does ? Well, it will detect your fingers hovering over the screen. With that said, Gartner Inc believes that, “worldwide market for touchscreen mobile devices will surpass 362.7 million units in 2010, 96.8 % increase from 2009 sales of 184.3 million units“. Basically doubling last year numbers. In a matter of 2+ year, touchscreen (capacitive and resistive) mobile devices will capture 58% of all mobile device sales worldwide. I strongly believe that, TrueTouch Hover Detection will play a big role surpassing these numbers.

In the below video you will see an short demo of the TrueTouch Hover Detection and how it will change the way we browse the internet. – This is just a beginning. This will definitely, open more door for developer to come up with more user friendly user interface.
