Snow Leopard on PC with Rebel EFI
Here is some GREAT news for all Hackintosh Lovers like me. Rebel EFI is released! You can install any OS on PC including Snow Leopard the worlds most advanced OS. One of the advantage of Rebel EFI is – Lets say, you installed a Retail copy of Snow Leopard, you are good to go with instaling all the update from Apple directly.
So, with out wasting any time, I would like to start on How to Install Snow Leopard using Rebel EFI
PROS & CONS
Free Method (Boot-132 + Chameleon + following guide)
Pros
- Works on every single hardware on planet earth (i.e even with legacy Pentium 4 and AMD with SSE2)
- Allows you to have more control over your hardware as in selection of kext and tuning it right to work it properly (DSDT)
- Its free (as in free beer) plus you’ll just have to pay $29 for genuine Snow Leopard installation disc
Cons
- Its not for everyone
- Requires extensive reading , searching and not to mention basic understanding of UNIX and such (which could be useful in just about anything)

Paid Method (Rebel EFI)
Pros
Can’t think of any. Seriously. If you think that it saves time , etc. Yeah sure but those aren’t real pros
Cons
- $50 for a software whereby you could do it for free

Here is the list of supported harware from Psystar
First: What do you need to get started.
- Retail Copy of Snow Leopard
- Download a copy of Rebel EFI
- Empty CD
- Time with Patience
Okay I have them all. Where should I start?
Right here.. Keep following these steps..
Step 1: Burn the Rebel EFI to a CD.
Step 2: Insert the Rebel EFI CD into your PC
Step 3: Now, Restart your PC
Step 4: While its booting make sure to reach your boot options. In my PC its ESC to get into Setup and Leter F9 for boot options.
Step 5: Select to boot form the CD (Rebel EFI)
Step 6: Follow the instruction on your screen.
Step 7: Rebel EFI will ask you to insert Snow Leopard
Step 8: Insert Snow Leopard
Step 9: Now, follow the instruction on Snow Leopard Installation.
- If no disk shows, Click on Utilities on the tool bar, then select Disk Utilities.
- On the left you should see your hard drive.
- If not, a disk is not connected or cannot be read by your computer.
- After selecting your hard drive click on Partition.
- Under Volume Scheme, click current and select 1 partition.
- Under Volume Information, name your hard drive.
- Format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
- At the bottom of the window Click on the Options Button.
- Select the GUID Partition Table
- Click OK
- Click Apply
- Click Partition
- Quit Disk Utilities
Step 10: Once the installation is done. Eject your Snow Leopard disk and Insert Rebel EFI
Step 11: Again, access the Boot options to boot from Rebel EFI CD.
Step 12: Once Rebel EFI is loaded, you will see your Snow Leopard Hard Drive and RebelCD
Step 13: Select your Snow Leopard hard Drive and boot from Snow Leopard.
Step 14: Once loaded, Double click on Rebel EFI CD on your desktop.
Step 15: Here you need to register your Rebel EFI product.
Step 16: Once that process is done, you need to register your Snow Leopard.
There you go. You are done installing Snow Leopard on a PC.
