Here is some GOOD news for all iPhone 2G and iPodTouch (older models the NON-MC devices). iPhone -Dev team created a special version of redsn0w 0.9.4 just for you.

We’ve compiled a special version of redsn0w meant just for you. You guys can get in on the “3.1.2 loophole” too using this special version.  Don’t try this if you have a newer iPod Touch 2G or if you’re not completely sure what version you have.

All other users like 3G, 3GS and newer iPodTouch users please STAY AWAY from this upgrade. Follow us on twitter to get more updated information on when you can upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.3.

Users with all iPhone and iPodTouch models, if you want to stay on 3.1.2 and would like to Jailbreak & unlock your iPhone here are some tutorials

——————————————————————————————————————————————

If you are a iPhone 2G user follow this instruction on how to Jailbreak and Unlock your iPhone with firmware 3.1.3.

Step 1: Download and Install redsn0w 0.9.4 (For only iPhone 2G) Mac Version / Windows Version

Step 2: Download iPhone / iPodTouch 2G 3.1.2 Firmware (Yes! It is 3.1.2 - You can download it from here.)

Step 3: Connect your iPhone to your Mac / Windows

Step 4: Restore your iPhone using iTunes (Firmware 3.1.3) – Make sure you have the updated version of iTunes

Step 5: Once done restoring, run redsn0w 0.9.4

Step 6: Now, click on browser and navigate and select the downloaded 3.1.2 ipsw file (If you select 3.1.3, redsn0w 0.9.4 is not validating ipsw file. We are using 3.1.2 firmware just to bypass this step.)

Step 7: Now check mark Install Cydia and Already Pwned and click Next (Don’t check mark Already Pwned if this is the first time your Jailbreaking. If you are unsure check mark Already Pwned)

Step 8: Here, you need to power off you iPhone but, make sure its connected to your Mac or Windows and click Next

Step 9: Now, put your iPhone in recovery mode – Follow the instructions on redsn0w window. And click next

Let the process begin. Once the process is completed, you have succesfully Jailbroken you iPhone. Now, its time to Unlock your iPhone

Step 1: Launch Cydia

Step 2: Tap on Search

Step 3: Search for “BootNeuter” app

Step 4: Tap on Install and then confirm to install BootNeuter app

Step 5: Once Installed, Close Cydia and reboot your device.

There you GO! Now, you have an iPhone / iPodTouch running 3.1.3 firmware which is Jailbroken and unlock.
