How to check your iPhone iBoot version

Here is the Window Version

  • Put the device in DFU. – Follow this link here (Enter DFU Mode)
  • Right Click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager.
  • Try “Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller”, you will find “Apple Mobile Device USB Driver”.
  • Right Click on it and select “Properties”, navigate to “Details” and select “Device Instance ID”.
  • Scroll through this string and eventually you will find the bootrom version (iBoot)
  • To exit from DFU mode and return to “Normal Mode”. Simultaneously press and hold home and power buttons still you see Apple logo and then release.

Here is Mac Version

  • Put the device in DFU. – Follow this link here (Enter DFU Mode)
  • Open “System Profiler” to navigate to Hardware -> USB menu on the left.
  • Top right under “USB Device Tree Panel” click “Apple Mobile Device (DFU Mode)”
  • In the upper right corner look for the information “string on the Serial Number.”
  • At the bottom you will find the description BootRom version (iBoot).
  • To exit from DFU mode and return to “Normal Mode”. Simultaneously press and hold home and power buttons still you see Apple logo and then release.
