Nexus One or iPhone 3G SThere is no denial when we hear “Apple’s iPhone has changed the way we look at mobile phones”. Apple announced the iPhone on January 9, 2007 and launched its First Generation iPhone in United States on June 29, 2007. In Year 2007, Time magazine named it the Invention of the Year 2007. This year iPhone 3G S took the 4th place in Time Magazine’s Gadget Of the Year 2009. It was very surprising to see Motorola Droid with Android as its OS was standing in the 1st place.

Past two year, industry leaders were trying to give a good fight, but they were not as successful as they thought they would be.

For the past few weeks we have been hearing this buzz – “Google Phone” codename “Nexus One”. Google Phone is not in the market yet. Google has given its Nexus One to all its employees as a Holiday gift in return Google asked for feedback and suggestions. By the time it comes out to the market, things may change.. Google Phone’s tech specs were leaked via multiple sources.

Looking at these specs most us may get a feeling that, Google’s Phone “Nexus One” may give a GOOD FIGHT to Apple’s iPhone 3G S. Lets put the specs together and see…

Other Comparisons:

  • iPhone 3G S can be unlocked using third-party Jailbreaking and Unlocking Tools. Then it can be used on any GMS Technology Service Provider like T-Mobile or any provider (all over the globe).
  • Nexus One will be a unlocked phone by default. That means, it can be used on any GSM Technology Service Provider like T-Mobile or any provider (all over the globe).

Multitasking:

  • iPhone 3G S can perform multitasking by installing a third-party app on all Jailbreaken iPhones. That means, you can open a dozen applications or more and run them on background.
  • Nexus One is a multitasking phone by default. – That means, you can open a dozen applications and run them on background.

MultiTouch:

  • iPhone 3G S is capable of MultiTouch.
  • Nexus One is not capable of MultiTouch.

Preloaded/Preinstalled:

  • iPhone 3G S is loaded with MMS, Notes, Clock, Photos, Calculator, Safari, Camera, Mail, Calender, iPod, YouTube, Stocks, Maps, Contacts, AppStore, iTunes, Compass, Weather and there are plenty of other apps (90,000) that can be downloaded and installed via AppStore for free or a small cost.
  • Nexus One is loaded with MMS, Clock, Calculator, GMail, Google Voice, Google Talk, Google Calender, Google Maps and Google Search by Voice, Facebook , Twitter and few others apps. As Nexus One will be running on Android OS, you will have access to Android Market where you can download thousands of useful apps for free or a small cost.

By reviewing the above spec’s we can see that Google Phone/Nexus One will give a tough fight to Apple’s iPhone 3G S. The above fight is with Apple’s iPhone 3G S with OS 3.1.2 and Google Phone/Nexus One with Android OS 2.1. Keep in mind, the Next Gen iPhone (iPhone 3G 4/iPhone 4G) which will be expected to launch next year. This iPhone will be launched with more advanced features.

Hater. You mad because its Apple. Microsofts draconian behaviors was fine to the world, but you haters complain about Apple. STFU and don't buy Apple products. You haters are such sour bitches.

Whats so funny is the Geeks no matter what are mad that Apple is garnering success. All these haters can't stand it. Well too bad. You missed the fact that the phone just works. If it didn't why are iPhone developers making way more money off the iPhone ecosystem. Why is the most web traffic by mobile devices are created by iPhone OS devices.

Start ending this bias towards Apole and be fair. The company had its bad times and had to learn the hard way. Now all you haters can't stand the fact they are winning fair and square.

BY the way there is no such thing as a perfect device. Just what works for you. And what works for you doesn't automatically mean its the best solution for everybody. So ratchet down the fanboyism. And learn to appreciate diverse technology.

"A wholistic comparison would also include the price! That's where the Nexus One points most! And besides: please correct your mistake with the multitouch! It IS possible in Nexus One. This device is just wastly superior to the iphone, period."
    • demopublican
These reviews DON'T matter. Nexus and Droid will be the top phones.

Apple DOESN'T CARE, they are moving the goal posts and introducing the iTablet, iNetbook, iPod reader... whatever, and getting out of the phone market--why compete when you can spend a crapload of marketing money and get people to buy a shiny new piece of hardware to get 20% new features when the old hardware does 80% of it easily.

It'a about getting people to buy new hardware. The appstore is a marketing deploy: <1% essential apps (mainly free), 2% useful apps (at a price) and 97% crap. BUT Apple made a sh*tload of money screwing developers with yearly $99/299 fees AND new computers, OSX licenses and such for new developers to startup on developing a $0.99 app that will make $100 bucks (which Apple only pays out if you make >150) in it's lifetime. Microsoft was right, developers got tempted by Apple marketing of "greed" and got kicked to the curbed.

you dont even have to root it ,the dolphin browser supports multi touch on the droid already, just install it and go
    • ustudio
      * iPhone 3G S is capable of MultiTouch.
      * Nexus One is not capable of MultiTouch.
thats is totally untrue, its has full multitouch capabilities but not in a couple of app including the browser, however you can use another browser like dolphin and it will work
    • justsomedude
i like how in the break down it says the iphone can multitask by jail breaking, but they forget to mention that the android can multitouch if the root it. also the nexus one has double the resolution of the iphone. that didnt get on the specs.
