Snow Leopard is the worlds most advanced operating system, and even those of us who have been using it since its initial release have to admit that we don’t know all its secrets yet. Here are some tips and tricks you probably haven’t encountered in your everyday use of Mac OS X.
Slow Motion Animation (It’s looks amazing).
You might have noticed it- when you click the minimize button on your window, its curves its body and sits in the Dock and when you click on the window icon, which is sitting in the Dock it curves its body while coming up on the desktop. It’s very cool to watch. The amazing thing to watch is “Watching it in Slow Motion”. To watch this action in slow motion you just need to HOLD the “Shift” key while clicking on the Minimize button or on the Dock icon
This also applies when you click on “Downloads”, “Documents” and “Recent Applications” etc..

Secret Clipboard
You know about “Copy and Paste”. To Copy – “Command” + “C” / To Paste – “Command” + “V”. Have you heard about Secret Clipboard? Well, let me tell you, following secret is carried over from Linux which is very handy. I personally use it a lot..
- “Control” + “K” – Kill – It works as a Secondary Cut. But, an interesting thing is – Place your cursor at a given point and Hit “Control” + “K”, it will CUT all of the text going forward. (As you can guess – This only works in Text Edit or while writing a Mail etc. It won’t work on Web Pages.)
- “Control” + “Y” – Yank – With this command, you can bring the text back.

Playing with Text
By now, you should know Copy & Paste and Kill & Yank. Here is something different. Select the desired text and drag and drop it on to the desktop. This text will be instantly saved on to the desktop. Where ever its needed, you could insert it by drag it from the desktop. This will only help if you are playing with text. Unfortunately, you cant edit this text using TextEdit (To my knowledge). Please let me know if there is a way to edit this text. I would love to know..
These are just a few tips and tricks for Mac OS X. Enjoy..
