That is true, GPhone is on its way loaded with Android. Few Management Associates at Google are already enjoying this beauty. This beauty is not the ordinary phone loaded with Android. We heard that, this Phone is custom made for Google Associates and its running Android 2.1.

Recently, Leslie Hawthorn, who is the Program Manager for Google’s Open Source Team tweeted the following..

–”Stuck in mass of traffic leaving work post last all hands of 2009. ZOMG we had fireworks and we all got the new Google phone. It’s beautiful”

Few hours later, Jason Howell, who is the Podcast Producer for CNET tweeted the following..

–”The new Google Phone runs on HTC hardware. I saw it w/ Android 2.1. Home-screen has new visual enhancements like animated desktop wallpaper.”

What can we guess about GPhone? It’s an HTC phone – probably the Passion, a distant cousin to the beautiful HD2 – with large touchscreen. It’s GSM unlocked and most of Google Associates carry one.

If this is all true and if Google start selling Google Phone to general public, who will be the service provider? Rumors says that Google Phone will be out in Summer 2010. WOW!!! Same time as Next Gen iPhone (iPhone 3G4). That will be very very interesting to watch the competition.

On the other note: May be, the plan behind acquiring Lala is to integrate this piece into there Google Phone.
