Update (07/02/2010) – iPhone Dev Team released PwnageTool 3.1.5 -  Jailbreak your iPhone OS 3.1.3 using PwnageTool 3.1.5

Few hours we received the following tweet from MuscleNerd who is part of the iPhone Dev Team.

PwnageTool For iPhone 3.1.3

With the above tweet – we can assume that, PwnageTool for Mac OS X is getting ready to support iPhone firmware 3.1.3. We can be sure that with this updated version of PwnageTool, your Base-Band will be preserved so that it can be unlocked after the jailbreak process.

Now, Let talk about the main point of this tweet: As MuscleNerd said, This is for all Jailbroken user/owner, please don’t rush to use PwnageTool when its released to update your iPhone with the new firmware 3.1.3. So, let us FIRST TEST IT. Once we have few success stories, we will keep you posted. Then you can start using PwnageTool. I understand, this version of firmware is very important as it has some security updates and few other minor updates.

For people who are not aware of PwnageTool – This tool is a iPhone / iPodTouch jailbreak tool. With which you can create your own custom firmware (ipsw file) and then restore it with iTunes. While creating custom firmware you could also add source, upload your choice of boot logo and recover logos and even inject unlock/activation into it.

If you can’t wait for PwnageTool you have few other options
