Share with everyone: use the ih8snow utility. They say it bypasses firmware authentication mechanisms on itunes servers especially the 16xx errors. Google it then download. Extract the exe file. Open it first then it guides the jailbreaking process. I have used it without any mess upon updating to 3.1.1 then now with 3.l.2.
