Microsoft is working on bringing their big vision to life. That is bringing “Xbox live to Windows Mobile”. On 10th August 2009, Microsoft posted an opening for “LIVE Community Director in the Entertainment & Devices Division” for Redmond, WA location. Microsoft is looking for a director who will manage Microsoft’s LIVE Community strategy and execution across a range of properties from Xbox LIVE to Windows Mobile. This Senior position will play a vital role in the community space as the live engagement team builds and programs Microsoft’s Next Generation, LIVE-enabled casual and social gaming platform across the web, the console, mobile and beyond.
Microsoft posted few other opening for the building a Windows Mobile Gaming Platform like – “Principal Program Manager“, “Software Test Engineer”, “SENIOR Software Development Engineer“. All these job posting seems that Microsoft is looking to bring the Xbox Live, Windows Mobile, and other similar properties closer together. More specifically, there’s talk of a “casual and social gaming platform” that would be available via more than just one device.
Looking at the job description, it very clear that Microsoft is definitely working on getting Xbox Live on Windows Mobile and beyond. But, surprising enough, Microsoft removed “LIVE Community Director in the Entrainment & Devices Division” opening from there JOB Portal.
Is Microsoft trying to hide their vision to bring Xbox to Windows Mobile from us? What would be the reason for Microsoft to remove that opening?
Remember, back in October 2008, Steve Ballmer informed that Zune Software was coming to Windows Mobile platform. It’s very possible that part of the vision is getting a large gaming platform working on Windows, the Xbox, the Zune, as well as on Windows Mobile.
