By next year, Apple’s iPhone will overtake RIM’s BlackBerry

In our recent article we have learned that, in just a matter of 2 year touchscreen devices will capture 58% of global mobile market. We have also learned that, how aggressively Apple’s iPhone and Android powered devices are growing with compare to Symbian, RIM and Microsoft.

Now according to Forbes speculations, Apple iPhone will overtake RIM’s BlackBerry in the global smart-phone market by 2011. However, in a recent numbers provided by Gartner, we have seen that, Currently RIM’s is leading, but its growth percent is way less than iPhone & Android.

With out any doubt, iPhone’s huge success with around 35 to 40 million iPhone sold to date. But, Apple has struggled to appealed to business people because of a common assumption that the platform is far less secure than those of its rivals, allowing BlackBerry to continue to dominate the business people market. But, things will soon change becuase, Apple’s iPhone OS 4.0 is said to be more secured than ever. Apple is definitely targeting business people with this version of OS.

Forbes is speculating these number from a new financial platform called Trefis, which know how a company’s products impact its stock. “We expect Apple’s market share to overtake that of RIM by 2011, and for Apple and RIM to have 11 % and 8% market share, respectively, by the end of Trefis forecast period,” said Forbes.

According to Forbes, who believe sales of the iPhone will eventually outpace BlackBerry sales for the following reasons:

1.  Apple’s ecosystem of consumer products (Macs, iPad, Apple TV) and services (iTunes, iPhone apps) make the iPhone a more attractive phone for many consumers compared to the BlackBerry

2. End of AT&T exclusivity will give Apple’s iPhone wider distribution in the US (comparable to BlackBerry distribution)

3. iPhone is making inroads with business customers that have traditionally preferred the BlackBerry

The competition has been getting health and health as more leader like Apple, RIM, Google, Microsoft, Symbian, Sony, Samsung, etc., are fighting to get a big share in the global smart-phone market.
