Its very hard to believe. But, its TRUE!! Now you can get a laptop for less than $100.
PAAJAF is a humanitarian services nongovernmental organization based in Accra, Ghana, West-Africa. The foundation provides food and shelter, clothing, basic health care, community building skills, job training and education for children, women and orphans.
When Cherrypal, the self-touted eco-friendly computer company learned about PAAJAF they have committed to send 20 laptop and pay for internet access. Living in Silicon Valley makes us blind. “Accra” is not just in Ghana, it’s also here in the western world, in Michigan, in Ohio, in New York State, in California, literally everywhere. There are still more than 15 million Americans who can’t afford an own laptop, who have to go to a public library or live without access to the Internet at all, which is becoming increasingly difficult.
This has been realized by Cherrypal and decided to build a Laptop for those who can’t afford to spend couple of hundred dollars. So, they started PROJECT AFRICA..
More about the system:
- Screen Size: 7”
- OS: Windows CE or Linux
- Process: 400 MHz
- Hard Drive: 256 GM
- Memory: 2GB
- Prize: $99
Personally, I can’t use this Laptop, but, I can afford to buy one. And donate to someone who need it and who can’t afford to spend $100 on a Laptop. I believe Cherryapl has done there part – building a laptop under $100. Now, its our turn (People who CAN afford and WILLING to donate).
