Well, the previous Windows Phone 7 Update was not as successful as it should be. But, the much awaited “NoDo” update for Windows Phone 7 has leaked in the wild, just before its official public release, which is expected to be available some time this week. For folks who are not aware of “NoDo” update – This update includes much anticipated Copy & Paste functionality and improved performance on application start-up and resume time.
Guys over at XDA Developer some how got hold of a ROM image for European HTC Mozart Windows Phone 7. If you are proud owner of HTC Mozart Windows Phone 7 Phone and can’t wait till Microsoft‘s official release, you can just follow the below instructions and get “NoDo” on your device.
How To Flash ‘NoDo’ ROM On Your HTC Mozart Windows Phone 7
Step 1: Download 1.09 ROM, 1.30 & ModelID – Links posted below
Step 2: Extract the 1.09 ROM to a folder, let’s name it 109
Step 3: Extract the 1.30 ROM to a folder, let’s name it 130. Use WinRar to extract the 1.30 rom’s exe file – right click on the file and then look for extract entries of winrar
Step 4: Extract ModelID.fig from ModelID.zip and place it into the 130 folder.
Step 5: Reboot your Mozart Phone to Bootloader mode (Switch off then hold Vol. Down and Switch on. Release Vol Down when u see rainbow background)
Step 6: Connect your Mozart Phone to the PC and wait for the Drivers to be installed. You should see USB written on your Phone.
Step 7: Go to 109 Folder and start ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Step 8: Go through it with next, next, etc. Let your Phone upgrade the firmware. After it gets to 100% Phone reboots to Bootloader Mode itself (and ROMUpdateUtility.exe states an error, but well, it seems this error wont bother us).
Step 9: Go to 130 Folder and start ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Step 10: Go through it with next, next, etc. Let your Phone upgrade the firmware. After it gets to 100% you are done.
