Users/Owners of Windows 7 notebooks are encountering an unusual problem with false alerts or warnings that their batteries are dying, Microsoft said today.
“We are investigating this issue in conjunction with our hardware partners, which appears to be related to system firmware,” a Microsoft representative said in a statement on Tuesday.
“We are working with our partners to determine the root cause and will update the forum with information and guidance as it becomes available.”
Microsoft is still looking into this issue with notebook makers to identify the cause. When its comes to battery alerts, BIOS (Basic Input Output System) will determine the status of the battery and its life. But, for some odd reason, users are getting these warning for their few months old laptops.
For all user and owner who gets this alert or warning, Microsoft suggested not to ignore this message. Instead, call your computer maker to see whether the warning is warranted or not.
